About Us
Holy Name is a Catholic Church serving the people of Wahroonga and neighbouring suburbs, and is part of the Diocese of Broken Bay.
What we believe
Our faith is best summed up in the Nicene Creed, which is proclaimed each Sunday during the Mass:
We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made, one in
Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he was born of the Virgin Mary,
and became man.
For our sake he was crucified
under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered, died, and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right
hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord, the giver of live,
who proceeds from the
Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son
he is worshipped and glorified
He has spoken throught he Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one
baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen

We are Easter People .... An explanation of our logo
Holding hands we walk with confidence towards the rising Easter Sun aware that the road will take us past the cross of the resurrected Christ, a symbol of both suffering and triumph. As Catholics we make no distinctions of age, background, culture or any other human condition. The redemptive work of Jesus is brought to us through the Eucharist, which nourishes us on the Body of the Lord, and his Holy Word. We celebrate our parish oneness by believing, living and performing the works of God. These good works are the rays of the sun, organised under the headings of Spirituality, Liturgy, Education, Charity and Hospitality. The belfry indicates the place where we gather to give thanks, looking up to that which is to come, and keeping in mind our Dominican heritage.
